Our Cooperative Model
Your Partner in Colorado Agriculture
Farm Credit of Southern Colorado (FCSC) is a member-owned financial cooperative. We provide farmers, ranchers, and rural community members with the financing, insurance, and guidance needed to grow, overcome challenges, and build the future they envision.
The Farm Credit System is the largest single provider of agricultural credit in America, including our award-winning Farm Loans and Financing services.
Structured for Shared Success
Farm Credit of Southern Colorado is a member-owned cooperative. That means our borrowers are also our owners, and that our goals are aligned with yours. Unlike traditional lenders, we don’t operate on short-term gains. We’re structured to create long-term value for the people and communities we serve.
What “Partnership” Means to Us
It’s simple. When our members succeed, so do we. And then we reinvest those earnings straight back into our members through patronage. That’s because we believe in keeping the value of Colorado agriculture where it belongs—within the producers and communities that generate it.
Built for Resilience
Agriculture doesn’t operate on a quarterly schedule. As an ag-only lender, neither do we. Like you, we prioritize the long-term strength of your operation, and help you make the best financial decisions even as markets, seasons, and challenges evolve.
Patronage
In 2024, we returned a patronage payment equal to the previous year’s amount, continuing our strong commitment to our member-owners. Patronage is a portion of our yearly profits that our board declares and distributes to eligible members.
$8M
Patronage declared in 2025
$94M
